It’s Time to Explore Alternative Solutions 

In June 2021, TIBCO announced that Scribe support is ending November 2022 and Crestwood wants to make sure you’re prepared for the change that’s coming soon. 

This retirement will apply to all product components, including: 

  • TIBCO Scribe Insight Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics AX 
  • TIBCO Scribe Insight Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics 365 And CRM 
  • TIBCO Scribe Insight Adapter for Dynamics GP 
  • TIBCO Scribe Insight Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 
  • TIBCO Scribe Insight Adapter for Salesforce
  • TIBCO Scribe Insight Adapter for Saleslogix 
  • TIBCO Scribe Insight Adapter for Web Services 

Don’t you love learning the ins and outs of a product only for it to go away?  Very helpful.  

Crestwood will continue to offer support regardless of the TIBCO support window closing and there are great long-term alternatives that we can help to evaluate for your business. For instance, TIBCO Cloud Integration or SmartConnect are great alternatives.  It is best to speak with a Crestwood Client Account Manager to help guide your decision making. 

In the short-term, Crestwood is offering an Extended Support program for TIBCO Scribe.  By converting a perpetual license into a TIBCO Cloud Integration subscription, end users will have access and be entitled to Extended Support for TIBCO Scribe Insight v7.9.5 through November 30th, 2023. 

The countdown to November is on so there’s no time to waste.  The timeline for an upgrade is typically 4-6 weeks depending on the client’s availability for testing.  The test phase is the biggest variable in how long it takes to make sure all areas are functioning well so schedule time in advance and a Client Account Manager and we’ll guide you through the process.  

Frequently asked questions and their answers about the retirement of TIBCO Scribe Insight: 

Q: Why are you retiring Insight? 
A: Due to the demand and focus on Cloud, we are helping customers make the transition to TIBCO Cloud Integration and allocating resources to that future path. TIBCO Cloud Integration offers all of the equivalent functionality plus additional capabilities and unlimited potential. 

Q: Do I have to stop using TIBCO Scribe Insight? 
A: If you own the perpetual license then you may continue using the product past the retirement date. TIBCO will provide extended support to eligible customers until November 30, 2023 after the product retirement date of November 30, 2022.  

Q: Are there additional updates being made to Insight leading up to the retirement date? 
A: We may provide patches or hotfixes for customers on maintenance plans where possible.  

Q: Is extended support available beyond the retirement date?

Q: What is TIBCO doing to help existing customers through this retirement process? 
A: Our transition program provides existing Insight customers who are on Maintenance an option to upgrade to TIBCO Cloud Integration and retain access to Insight. Please contact your Account Executive for details on this.

Q: How do I find out more about TIBCO Cloud Integration? 
A: Check out our TIBCO Cloud Integration pages website where you can find videos, datasheet, connectors, etc and other details.

Q: I already signed up for Maintenance – what do I do? 
A: Contact your Account Manager if you are interested in the transition program, which gives you access to TIBCO Cloud Integration, to assist you with the migration to our flagship integration product.

Q: Is there a migration package available?
A: We have a number of partners who have worked with customers to successfully migrate workloads from Insight to TIBCO Cloud Integration. Please reach out to your Account Executive for details and introductions.   

Q: What will become of the TIBCO Scribe Online Insight Connector? 
A: As a part of this effort, that connector will be removed from the Marketplace as well. Extended support will be offered for this connector for those customers that have extended support for TIBCO Scribe Insight.
