I know you probably love reading all the release notes for the new versions of Acumatica, but I’ll save you some time and give you the cliff notes.  Here is a list and screen shot of the new projects features in Acumatica 2021 R1.

Inactivate Account Groups

An Active check box has been added to the Account Groups screen so you can inactivate Account Groups.

Commitments Screen Changes

The following columns have been added to the Commitments screen.

  • Status
  • Committed Variance Quantity
  • Committed Variance Amount

Committed Values Calculation Changes

The calculations below have been changed.

  • Committed Received Quantity – The received quantity of the corresponding purchase order line or subcontract line.
  • Committed Invoiced Quantity – The billed quantity of the corresponding purchase order line or subcontract line.
  • Committed Invoiced Amount – The billed amount of the corresponding purchase order line or subcontract line.

If you are using multicurrency there can be differences. Below are the calculations.

  • Committed Open Quantity – The lowest value of the following differences.
    • Committed Revised Quantity – Committed Received Quantity
    • Committed Revised Quantity – Committed Invoiced Quantity
  • Committed Open Quantity for items with he By Quantity option selected in the Close PO Line box.
    • Committed Revised Amount / Committed Revised Quantity * Committed Open Quantity if Committed Revised Quantity is greater than zero.
      • Committed Received Amount = unit cost * received quantity of the corresponding purchase order line or subcontract line
    • Committed Revised Amount – Committed Invoiced Amount if the Committed Revised Quantity equals zero.
    • Committed Revised Amount for items with By Amount option selected in the Close PO Line box. The lowest Committed Open Amount equals the lowest of the following differences.
      • Committed Revised Amount – Committed Received Amount
      • Committed Revised Amount – Committed Invoiced Amount

Validation Changes of Original Values

On the Document Details tab of Purchase Orders or Subcontracts, if the purchase order line from a commitment has the By Quantity option selected on the Close PO Line box and the Require Receipt check box is cleared, the value in the Order Qty column of the purchase order line must be greater than zero.

Default Accounts & Subaccounts

Default Accounts and Subaccounts for Sales and Costs have been added to Projects screen, Project Tasks screen, Project Templates screen, Project Template Tasks screen, and Common Tasks.

The following forms have UI Enhancements to support the new Workflow.

The Hold check box has been removed and placed under the Actions menu with Hold and Remove Hold.

The Status box cannot be selected manually. It is changed automatically depending on the Actions selected.

The Actions menu has been rearranged. Commands related to Workflow are at the top of the menu and commands not related to Workflow have been moved to the bottom of the menu.

New Name for Validate Project Balance

Validate Project Balances has been renamed to Recalculate Project Balances.

The Action on the Projects form for Validate Project Balance has been renamed to Recalculate Project Balance.
