Streamline and Simplify Order Fulfillment with Business Central

Simply log in to Business Central on a mobile device; you’ll be able to check and manage inventory right from your phone or tablet. Once you’ve accessed your dashboard, you’ll have a variety of roles and actions to choose from – without worrying about logging back in, switching pages or taking time tracking down details.

Once you’re logged in and on the main dashboard, you’ll be able to see a variety of items that are awaiting fulfillment and those that are not in the queue yet but heading your way.  The ability to tell at a glance the amount of inventory you’ll need and even the amount of time you’ll need to dedicate to the task allows you to approach fulfillment strategically and efficiently. Intuitive and easy to understand color coding highlights those items that need attention and those that are on time, experiencing delay or require additional information. You can also set priorities for your team or yourself based on internal KPI or criteria at this time.

Shipping Orders

Whether you determine priority on your own or use the built-in recommendations and settings, you can begin fulfillment and shipping. Select an order to begin; the system will generate a smart list of items that are needed for the customer. You’ll have the details needed to complete the order, along with the customer history, relevant notes and even any contact or special details you need to know about the buyer’s preferences and needs.

Supply Chain

Each item in the order is clearly displayed, along with the number of units you have for fulfillment. You’ll be able to tell at a glance if items are available, or if they need to be purchased from a vendor or third party. This is also the place to get more details about each separate item and discover any item-specific notes on color, size or style that were not already included, via a built-in inventory card. The inventory card has pictures for easy reference, a full description and details about the item. Use these details to successfully and efficiently fulfill the order.

Planning Ahead

Selling an item that is low in stock or that you are out of is risky – the customer could end up frustrated if there is a lengthy delay. Business Central allows you to plan ahead and reorder inventory items as soon as you sell them, resulting in fewer delays and fewer unhappy buyers.

A requisition worksheet is an exclusive Business Central tool that dramatically increases efficiency; just type in the items you are looking for and you’ll gain access to all worksheets, reports and journals related to tat item. This is also the place to generate purchase orders based on sales and recent trends. Follow the prompts to generate purchase orders for what you need and move on to the next fulfillment task.

Receiving

Once your items arrive, Business Central makes it easy to input your new inventory into the system so you have an accurate count of the items you have on hand. You can generate a warehouse receipt and have the items placed in the proper location for easy fulfillment later. This is also the place to pay your vendor invoices in a timely manner. Following this system of fulfill, reorder, receive ensures you always have enough inventory on hand and that you can locate these items promptly.

Supply Chain

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central can be used to replace legacy systems that are simply not efficient enough, to improve worker productivity and best of all, to ensure customers receive orders that are accurate and that arrive when they are supposed to.
