Many customers are planning to upgrade their Microsoft Dynamics SL this year. Are you thinking about an upgrade too?
Here’s the top reasons:
- Refreshable Excel files with Quick Query
In Dynamics SL 2015 the “Grid to Excel” feature in Quick Query now supports the creation of refreshable Excel table documents as well as pivot tables, allowing data to be exported and then opened and refreshed multiple times. - Quick Query Web Apps
Everyone seems to be mobile now days. Dynamics SL has expanded Quick Query into the new web apps, so you can view all your Quick Queries on a mobile device. - Emailing Reports
Quickly view and email your reports as attachments directly from Dynamics SL. Additionally, new email features have been added to the SAP Crystal Reports and Microsoft SQL Server Report Services (SSRS) preview interfaces. Users can select the report format and email address, and share report information. - Reports – User Friendly Names
This one tops the cake. No more guessing as to what a field name means. Dynamics SL will now show the description with the field. Additionally, it will also display a status indicating if the field is currently on the report (Yes or No) and whether it came from another table. - Possible Values List
PV’s have gotten smarter. Dynamics SL has added new data lookup functionality similar to the filters in Quick Query. These new features narrow down lookup options as you type when populating the possible values in all look up lists. - Report – Report Formats
Dynamics SL now allows unlimited report formats! This means users can set up as many reports formats as they want. To assist in choosing one of the unlimited report formats available to Dynamics SL users is a newly added feature that defines the most common format for a report, by company, so when a report is opened, it will default to the defined format.
However, be aware with #6, this great new unlimited report format feature can cause problems when upgrading. You need to remove all duplicates before the upgrade process will complete.
