Why do people use keyboard shortcuts? I used to teach beginner computer classes and one thing that always confused people is the multiple ways of doing the same thing. I always had a hard time answering that question, but over the years, I’ve found myself using more and more keyboard shortcuts because they do really save time. I especially like using the shortcuts in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. It seems to make moving around faster and smoother. I don’t have to switch back and forth from the keyboard to the mouse.
Here are the shortcuts I use everyday:
- Ctrl + X = Cut
- Ctrl + C = Copy
- Ctrl + V = Paste
- Ctrl + Z = Undo
- Ctrl + K = Insert a hyperlink
- Ctrl + F = Find
- F5 (at the top of the keyboard) = refreshes a webpage
- F1 = usually opens help
Besides these sort of global ones, there are keyboard shortcuts specific to Dynamics 365 or CRM. Did you know Alt + S will save and close a screen? Or that Esc will close a look-up or drop-down list?
Here’s a downloable list for you of some great Dynamics CRM shortcuts.
I suggest starting with a few and see if you like them. You might find these to be time-savers too!
